Fire crews called out to car fire and barbecue fire in play area

FIRE crews were called out twice last night in Warrington to deal with a car fire and a barbecue fire.

Shortly after 11 pm One fire engine from Warrington was called to a fire involving the engine compartment of a car in Newton Road, Winwick, Warrington.
The fire was out on arrival and the crew used a hose reel to damp down the area and disconnected the battery.
They then used a thermal imaging camera to monitor the car engine’s temperature.

Earlier n the evening just after 8 pm one fire crew from Penketh was called to a fire involving a barbecue on a play area off Kingsdale Road, Whittle Hall, Warrington.
The crew used water to put out the fire.
