TWO fire crews were called out during the early hours of this morning after an electrical fault at a domestic property in Great Sankey caused a bang and smoke logging.

At 1am firefighters at Penketh and Warrington were called out after receiving reports of smoke in the living room of the domestic property following a bang noise at the address on Liverpool Road in Great Sankey.

On arrival, crews found light smoke logging in the living room and signs of charring on the main electricity feed to the property.
A thermal imaging camera was used to look for hotspots and it was arranged for electrical engineers to attend.
Firefighters handed the incident over to the Scottish Power engineers.
The property was clear of smoke when they left.
Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour-and-a-half.
