Firefighters tackle garage fire and deliberate fires in the open

FIREFIGHTERS had a busy evening across Warrington tackling a garage fire at Penketh and three deliberate fires in the open.

Shortly before 7pm, two fire engines from Penketh attended a garage fire in Finlay Avenue, Penketh.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus put out the fire using two hose reels. The fire is thought to have been caused by a tumble dryer.



At 8.20 pm Firefighters from Warrington were called to a small bonfire in a park off Dale Lane, Appleton, Warrington.
Crews used a hose reel to put out the fire.
At a similar time, firefighters from Birchwood were called to woods off Admirals Road, Warrington, following reports of a bin fire.
On arrival, the crew discovered a wheelie bin on fire and a small bonfire. Crews used water to put out the fires.
At 8.15 pm One fire engine from Penketh was called to five small fires on land off Lingley Green Avenue, Great Sankey.
Crews used a water backpack and a bucket to extinguish the fires.
