WARRINGTON twins Ruben and Elena Evans-Guillen, aged 9, have received special Points of Light Awards for raising over £35,000 for NHS-related charities over the past four years.

The twins, who have ADHD, have channelled their energy into raising funds for NHS related charities over the past four years by taking on sponsored treks and challenges, received their awards from their local MP Charlotte Nichols on behalf of the Prime Minister.
Their most recent challenge is a month-long 100km Superhero Cycle, with donations going towards three portable lung suction machines, through charity ‘MedEquip4Kids’.

Previously, they have embarked on a year-long running target of 100km to raise money for the ‘Making Waves’ Appeal at Warrington and Halton Hospital, which has seen a new aquatic-themed outdoor play area created on the children’s ward.
In a personal letter to Ruben and Elena, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “Congratulations on raising over £35,000 for NHS charities!
“Over the last few years, you have run, trekked and ridden a staggering distance, covering hundreds of kilometres together. The money you have raised will help other children with sensory equipment and play areas in hospitals.”
Elena said: “I am very honoured to receive the Points of Light Award from the Prime Minister. What I like the most is to help and inspire people, it makes me feel very proud of my charity work that it is helping children to feel better.”
Ruben said: “Thank you very much Prime Minister for this award. I feel very proud of my charity work, especially because I know I’m helping other children like me. It is important for me to never give up and make the world a happier place.”
Warrington North MP Ms Nichols added: “It was my absolute privilege to meet nine-year old twins Ruben & Elena Evans-Guillen, from Padgate, to present them with their Points of Light Award from the Prime Minister for their
incredible efforts raising over £35,000 for NHS charities over the last four years.”
