Warrington cricket set to start on April 17 – subject to Covid restrictions

THE start of the cricket season in the Warrington area has been provisionally set for April 17 – subject to Covid-19 restrictions.

In the RSK Cheshire County League, division one, Grappenhall will travel to Marple for their first match while Warrington will travel to Congleton.
First home game at Broad Lane will be Grappenhall 2nd v Ashton on Mersey while at Warrington’s Walton Lea ground the first game will be the 2nd XI v Upton.
The UKFast Cheshire Cricket League is also set to start on April 17 with Appleton travelling to Heaton Mersey and Lymm Oughtrington Park entertaining Winnington Park in the first division.
Fixtures in the lower divisions have yet to be finalised but opening matches are expected to also be on April 17.
