POLICE issued 10 Fixed Penalty Notices following a blatant breach of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions at a birthday party in the Bewsey and Whitecross area of Warrington.
Officers were called to an address in the Bewsey and Whitecross area following a report of a coronavirus breach at around 9.15pm last night, Monday (March 8)>
On arrival, police could hear loud music and were permitted to enter the property.
Inside police found that a birthday party was taking place with a number of people who did not live at the property.
As a result of a blatant breach, a total of 10 fixed penalty notices were issued to each person in attendance.
A police spokesperson said:” We don’t want to do this but this was the only way in which we could protect tyhe NHS and save lives.”
A Fixed Penalty Notices is £100 for a first offence, £200 for a second and doubling each further repeat offence up to £6,400.
The majority of residents are sticking to the rules and for that we thank you.
However there is still a minority who are blatantly breaching the rules that are in place to keep us all safe.
