Firefighters help rescue motorist after collision at Winwick

FIREFIGHTERS helped rescue a motorist following a one-vehicle collision at Winwick earlier today, Friday.

Two fire engines from Warrington and Leigh were called out ar around 8.50am following reports of a collision on Newton Road in Winwick,
On arrival, the crews found there had been a one-vehicle collision.
Firefighters provided oxygen therapy to the driver of the car, they also helped to remove the person from the vehicle on a longboard before passing them to the care of paramedics.
Crews were in attendance for around one hour.
Later in the day shortly after 12 noon one crew from Warrington was called out to attend a skip fire on Winwick Street.
The crew, who used a hose reel to put out the fire, were detained at the scene for around 20 minutes.
