WARRINGTON North MP Charlotte Nichols visited the building site of the new Warrington Youth Zone and welcomed the “grassroots” approach to providing a new home for Warrington Youth Club.

Following her visit, Charlotte praised the potential benefits of the Zone as well as her ambition to expand its outreach across the Warrington North constituency.
Charlotte said: “It was great to see how construction is progressing for what will be a great resource for young people in our community.
“Its focus is principally on the ‘Central 6 ’wards of the borough, which is great for kids from Orford, Poplars and Hulme, Fairfield and Howley. In addition, I am working closely with Warrington Youth Club to ensure that kids from across the whole of Warrington North can benefit from the facilities, including by ensuring good transport links.
“It’s great that the team have a grassroots approach to building the Zone, offering what young people want it to be, rather than what adults think they want.
“I look forward to visiting again once it opens its doors!”
Onside has already created a network of similar facilities across the country, providing unrivalled facilities for young people to go to and enjoy arts, sports, learn new skills, or just meet friends and have someone to talk to. The Warrington project is its 12th.
Located in the stadium quarter next to the University Technical College (UTC) off Dallam Lane, Warrington Youth Zone will offer an indoor climbing wall, 3G kick pitch, four court sports hall, dance and drama studio, training kitchen, arts and crafts space, fully equipped gym, music room with recording studio and enterprise suite. Once fully open, more than 20 activities will be on offer for up to 250 young people every night of the week.
The long-established Warrington Youth Club will move into the building.
