A FIRE involving a garden shed spread to nearby trees and threatened a house at Warrington.
The blaze was at a house in Vermont Close, Great Sankey last night and firefighters from Warrington and Penketh were sent to the scene.
On arrival, the crews found the shed well alight in the back garden and spreading to the trees.
Firefighters isolated the gas and electricity supplies to the house as a precaution and then extinguished the fire with two hose reel jets.
They then dismantled the shed and damped down the area, using a thermal imaging camera to look for hotspots.
Once they were satisfied the address was safe firefighters left the scene after being there for around an hour and 15 minutes.
A heat lamp in the shed is believed to have been the cause of the fire.
