No further deaths but 33 new COVID-19 cases confirmed as downward trend ends

WHILE no further COVID-19 deaths have been reported at Warrington Hospital, 33 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed, with no downward trend for the first time since early November.

Inpatient numbers at the hospital have also increased slightly for a second consecutive day.
As reported yesterday most areas of Warrington have seen significant decreases in infection rates, although some areas have seen increases.

The 33 (30) new cases in Warrington in the latest daily update from Public Health England takes the total since the start of the pandemic to 8,343 (8,310).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days are 281 (278) – 133.8 (132.4) per 100,000 population – which shows a slight increase in infection rates for the first time since early November.
