A MAN who was arrested after a CCTV appeal following an assault in a Warrington town centre bar has received a suspended prison sentence and been ordered to pay his victim £500 compensation.
Peter Hayward, of Burrough Close, Birchwood, Warrington, pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and was sentenced for the offence at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday 6 October.
The 24-year-old was handed a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
Hayward was also ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work and pay the victim, a now 21-year-old man from Macclesfield, who received a serious facial injury, £500 in compensation.
He also has to pay a £149 victim surcharge.
The attack took place in the Reef Bar in Warrington town centre last November and the defendant was identified following a CCTV appeal.
