FANS were back at Gorsey Lane for the first time as Warrington Rylands 1906 lost a pre-season friendly 3-0 to Northern Premier League Premier Division side Atherton Collieries on Saturday in front of a healthy crowd.

Changes in Government regulations relating to no elite sport released last week means step 5 non-league clubs can admit 150 spectators to games in August whilst adhering to various safety protocols. The number of spectators allowed to attend games from September will be increased to 300 once a club has successfully staged a game under the 150 regulation.

Warrington Rylands 1906’s first game under the 300 spectator regulations is likely to be their FA Cup extra preliminary round tie on Tuesday 1st September away at 1874 Northwich.

Ticket arrangements will be announced following 1874 Northwich’s friendly against Knutsford on Thursday.

Warrington Rylands 1906 defeated Northern Premier League First Division neighbours Widnes at Gorsey Lane last Tuesday, Kane Drummond scored the only goal in a 1-0 win.
