FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night to tackle a fire in a builders yard that had got out of control.

Shortly after 8 pm firefighters at Penketh received a report of a fire in the open in Clegge Street, Warrington.
On arrival, the crew discovered that it was a case of controlled burning at the back of a builders’ yard that had got out of control.
Firefighters used a short extension ladder to enter the yard and then extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet.
They were in attendance for more than half-an-hour.
