Police praise for member of the public who helped detain drink driver

POLICE have praised a member of the public who helped detain a drink driver who was driving erratically at Birchwood when almost three times the limit.

The woman held onto a drunk driver until police arrived in the Birchwood area yesterday early evening. She had reported seeing the female driver making a real hash of negotiating kerbs, dual carriageways and roundabouts in the local area.
The driver Later provided a sample of breath of 98 – the legal limit is 35.

In another incident Two males were arrested yesterday afternoon for alleged Affray following reports of a fight in the Town Centre.
A female was also arrested overnight for alleged Damage to property in a town centre hotel.
Finally after 0500 this morning, male driver was arrested in the Stockton Heath area for alleged Taking a Motor Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent and a variety of document offences.
