COMMUNITY help hub and food resource Craft in Mind, based at the Cockhedge Shopping Centre, is reaching out to help those suffering during the Covid-19 pandemic

Emma Green from the Craft In Mind – Community Help Hub said: “We are supporting as many people and families as we can who have found things impossibly hard during the pandemic.
“We are here to help anyone that needs us, we have been helping people who are waiting for benefits, victims of domestic violence and people who have found themselves homeless with food, toiletries, clothing, toys, bedding and homewares.
“We are also making face coverings and selling them for £5 each to raise funds to supplement the food donations we receive. We are being supported by Asda Cockhedge and Iceland at Golden Square with food donations. Every month they provide us with a donation of food and toiletries to distribute to those who would otherwise be going without. Anyone at all who needs a helping hand are more than welcome to access what we have.
“Everything is free to those who need it.”

Emma, who is supported by John Wilson and Sandra Chorlton, added: “We are also supporting individuals who struggle with their mental health who use craft to manage and help with their mental wellbeing. We know first hand how important it is to look after your mind as well as yourself. We have also supported a mental health hospital who have barely any budget for craft materials to help support the people they are looking after as they are completely isolated and because of the pandemic can not have visitors, they are completely cut off from their loved ones.
“We have been given the store free of charge by the Cockhedge Shopping Centre to help our community.
Centre Manager George Wesson stated:“These are difficult times not just for retailers but more importantly for individuals who need support, so Cockhedge Owners and Management are pleased to be able to support Emma and her Team.”
Emma concluded: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the people of Warrington, the donations of things that are desperately needed have flooded in. We will always need more donations of non-perishable food, clothing, games, toys and craft
supplies. Please be assured, everything that is given to us goes straight to people who really do need them. If you need anything we provide or would like to donate, please get in touch.”
