Town’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to over 200 with latest care home figures

AT least 200 people have now sadly died in Warrington after testing positive for COVID-19 including the latest care home figures, with 10 new cases confirmed in the latest daily figures.

One more patient has sadly died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 taking the total number of COVID-19 related deaths at the hospital to 114, while at least 88 people have died in local care homes, taking the town’s death toll to at least 202.
The total number of confirmed cases in the town now stands at 732, an increase of 10 from yesterday.
As of noon last Thursday, Warrington Hospital had discharged a total of 247 patients.
Across the UK the Daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 545 taking the total number of deaths to 35,341
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 2,412 taking the total number to 248,818.

The latest ONS figures show that 121,002 deaths were registered in England and Wales between 21 March and 8 May 2020.
This was an increase of 49,575 more deaths than the average for this period in the previous five years.
