‘Back in Town’ strategy launched with online customer survey

AS part of a new “Back in Town” strategy, Warrington BID has launched an online survey asking consumers on their feelings about Warrington town centre and supporting shops after lockdown restrictions change.

BID Manager Harriet Roberts said: “As businesses prepare to re-open adhering to Government’s guidelines this is a chance to test the confidence of customers and to gather support.
“Life has changed and there may be opportunities to do things differently. This survey asks our customers what sort of businesses, facilities and core services our shopping centres and high street areas should provide and where we need to focus attention and investment.”
BID board members met together at the beginning of May to discuss a six month town centre recovery plan proposed by Warrington BID Chair, Dawn McElroy (Warrington Primark Manager).
Representatives gathered online via Zoom to discuss what is likely to be a phased return to business for different sectors and geographical areas when restrictions begin to be lifted by central Government.
Warrington BID intends to pull representatives from all sectors to work together on Warrington’s ‘Back in Town’ strategy. The plan will be based on a Post-COVID recovery framework being set out by the Institute of Place Management and The BID Foundation at Manchester Metropolitan University which has four distinct phases; Crisis, Pre-Recovery, Recovery and Transformation.

Warrington’s Pre-recovery and Recovery planning has begun with a commitment to enhanced communication and collaboration under three new themed hubs which will begin sharing experiences and ideas from next week, with health and safety a key priority in creating confidence and reassurance in the hearts and minds of people who work and shop in the town centre.
