No new COVID-19 related deaths at Warrington Hospital but Penketh revealed to have highest death toll

THERE have been no further COVID-19 related deaths and just new six new confirmed cases at Warrington Hospital in the latest daily figures, although Penketh has been revealed as the area of town with the highest death toll.

The number of patients who have sadly died at the hospital remains at 94, along with at least 57 deaths in local care homes taking the town’s death toll to at least 151.
The number of people from Warrington testing positive for COVID-19 at the hospital in the last 24 hours was six, taking the total to 664.

Meanwhile the Office for National Statistics has now released details of of areas of Warrington where Covid-19 is mentioned on an individual’s death certificate, although some deaths may have been redistributed to prevent identification of victims.
The data covers deaths between March 1 and April 17 – Penketh and Cuerdley currently has the highest number of deaths with 19.

Meanwhile there will be no “dramatic overnight change” of the UK’s lockdown rules.
Environment Secretary George Eustice said at the daily Downing Street briefing that the UK is “not out of the woods” and there are “still major challenges” during the coronavirus pandemic.
With prime minister Boris Johnson due to update the country on Sunday, Mr Eustice said ministers needed to be “very very cautious as we loosen the restrictions we have”.
M Johnson will “set out effectively a roadmap of how we can evolve the current restrictions”.
