Number of COVID-19 in patients at Warrington Hospital continues downward trend

WHILE one more patient has sadly died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 the number of in patients being treated has continued to decrease with a total of 217 being discharged.

COVID statistics released by Warrington & Halton Hospital Teaching Trust at noon today Thursday revealed they have now tested 2,974 patients in hospital/in the community.
Of those 828 tested positive (not all are from the Warrington area) and they are currently caring for 79 in patients (88 last week).
The hospital has now discharged 217 patients.
Sadly ninety four people have now died at the hospital along with at least 57 deaths in local care homes taking the town’s death toll to at least 151.
The number of people from Warrington testing positive for COVID-19 at the hospital in the last 24 hours was eight, taking the total to 658.

Meanwhile at the Government’s daily briefing Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said the virus was “not beaten yet” with an infection rate of between 0.5 and 0.9.
He said the UK was now in a position to think about the next phase of its cOVID-19 response but event he smallest lockdown changes would be the point of maximum risk.
He said any lockdown changes to be announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Sunday would be modest and small.
Existing rules will remain over the Bank Holiday weekend.
He added: “If we find in the future the R level goes back up or that people aren’t following the rules, we must have the ability to put measures back in place.”
