Town’s death toll climbs to 150 but only one more confirmed case of COVID-19 at Warrington Hospital

WHILE two more patients have sadly died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, taking the town’s death toll to at least 150, only one more person has tested positive.

Ninety three people have now died at the hospital along with at least 57 deaths in local care homes.
The number of people testing positive for COVID-19 at the hospital in the last 24 hours was just one, taking the total to 650.
Across the UK the Daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 649 taking the total number to 30,076.
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 6,111 taking the total number of lab-confirmed UK cases to 201,101.
Meanwhile at the Goverment’s daily briefing housing secretary Robert Jenrick says the government wants infrastructure and construction to begin again – but only where it is safe to do so.
He said ministers will also work to create more room in town centres as social distancing continues.

“We want to ensure appropriate and safe social distancing so people have the confidence to go back to work,” he added.
“Loal economies will need a plan to restart and recover.”
He added that the government would be working on how the leisure, transport and manufacturing sectors can operate guided by scientific advice.
He also said the Government “will stand behind” council leaders across the country to ensure they have the resources that they need to carry out the absolutely critical functions that they are playing in the national response to coronavirus.
