Police investigation underway after body found on railway line

POLICE are investigating after a person was found dead on a railway line at Folly Lane, Warrington earlier today.
Emergency services arrived at the scene just before 2pm today following reports of a person on the railway line.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the line in Bewsey at 1.52pm this afternoon, April 29, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are currently working to identify the person and establish the full circumstances behind their death.”

Road closures were put in place over the bridge while trains between Warrington Bank Quay and Wigan were suspended.
Police are now working to identify the deceased and have begun investigations into how they were killed. Investigations are ongoing to identify the deceased person and how they were killed.
