ONE more person has sadly died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, taking the death toll to 66, with 17 new cases confirmed for a second consecutive day, taking the total to 550.

With the number of people who have died at Warrington Hospital now, 66, in reality the town’s death toll is higher with at least five deaths in local care homes.
Meanwhile the number of confirmed cases now stands at 550, after a further 17 new cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours for a second consecutive day.
The latest figures come as Foreign Secretary Domic Raab, filling in for Prime Minister Borish Johnson, said Britain would not get a vaccine until at least next year and that it would not be responsible to lay out how the lockdown could be eased.
But he has hinted that people arriving in the country could be forced into quarantine for two weeks, the maximum time it takes for someone infected to start showing symptoms.
Across the country the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths in hospital was 413 taking the total to 20,732.
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 4,463 taking the total number of lab-confirmed UK cases to 152,840.
But the number of deaths does not include those in care homes or elsewhere and Lib Dem acting leader Sir Ed Davey, believes the number of deaths is 40,000 and has called for a public inquiry into the government’s response to the crisis which he described as a “national calamity.”
Meanwhile Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has called on ministers to publish an exit strategy and follow the lead of other countries by having honest conversations about what a future lockdown may look like.
