Man taken to hospital after Orford shooting

A man was taken to hospital last night (Friday) following reports of a shooting at Orford, Warrington.

Cheshire police, who say investigations are still at an early stage, received reports of a firearm being discharged at a property on Poplars Avenue at around 8.45pm.
While confirming a man has been taken to hospital following the incident, no detais are known on the extent of his injuries.
Local eye witness reports say three or four gun shots were heard and armed police were seen at the scene, near the junction of Newhaven Road and Cotswold Road and that a man was stretchered out of an address on Poplars, with leg injuries.
A Cheshire Police Spokesperson said: “At 8.50pm on Friday, Aprl 24, police were called to reports of a firearm being dischaged at an adrress on Poplars Avenue.
“Officers attened at the scene and a man has been taken to Warrington Hospital by ambulance.”
