AN 88-year-old grandmother who battled through pneumonia, sepsis, kidney failure, a brain infection and then Covid-19 was given a guard of honour by nurses and staff when she left Warrington Hospital.
Delighted to have her “Warrior” mum Doreen back at their Appleton home, Suzanne Farrar described the treatment her mum had received during her six week battle at Warrington Hospital, as “outstanding.”
She said: “After a heroic six week battle with pneumonia, sepsis, kidney failure, a brain infection and then Covid, my warrior Mum is home! Not sure I can express how grateful I am to everybody who cared for her at Warrington Hospital, they were nothing short of incredible in saving her life. We are over the moon to have her back, our house is not a home without her.
Doreen will be 89 in August.
Suzanne added:”The treatment she received at hospital was outstanding. Unbelievable. We nearly lost her a couple of times and then when she began to improve she tested positive for Covid19 on April 2nd. However her desire to come home to us drove her on.”
Tonight Suzanne, partner Tony and her two children Niall and Fern who turned 18 and 21 last week, should have been at a party at the London Bridge, but instead they will have a big party at home instead!!!
