Firefighters rescue cyclist who fell into Bewsey ditch

TWO fire crews rescued a cyclist who had fallen 20ft into a ditch at Bewsey early this morning.

Two fire engines, one from Warrington and one from Lymm and the rope rescue unit from Lymm, attended at the scene at 7.45am after reports of a man being stuck down a ditch in the Lilford Avenue area of Warrington, after falling off his bicycle.
On arrival crews found the man 20ft down the ditch. After assessing the scene, firefighters got the man out of the ditch using rope rescue equipment.
They then handed him over to the care of paramedics. Firefighters were in attendance for around 50 minutes.
