Two more deaths as total number of confirmed coronavirus cases increases to 259

TWO more patients have sadly died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for Coronavirus, taking the total number of deaths to 31, with 259 confirmed cases.

The latest figures for Warrington  come as across the country there have been 917 new deaths and 5,234 new cases, taking the national totals to 9,875 deaths and 78,991 cases.

Nationally 33 of the new deaths involved people aged between 29 and 94 with no known underlying health issues.

Among the Uk dead there are at least 19 NHS workers.

The number of confirmed cases in Warrington increased by 18 in the past 24 hours. The full extent of the number of deaths is not known as the figures don’t account for people who may have died in care homes or at home.

Warrington Hospital is no longer providing details on individual cases but it is understood that the hospital has capacity to deal with admissions after quadrupling its intensive care provision.

Meanwhile the majority of people are following the social distancing and stay at home guidelies, although police from 37 forces in Engand and Wales had issued 1,084 fines for breaches of coronavirus regulations,as of Thursday.
