Hospital death toll of patients testing positive for Coronavirus reaches 29

UPDATED: A total of 29 people have now sadly died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus, with a further nine deaths reported to Public Health England as the total number of confirmed cases now totals 241.

There have also been four confirmed deaths at two neighbouring care homes in Penketh. A total of 241 cases have now been confirmed across the borough as reported to Public Health England – an increase of 30 on yesterday.
There have been a further 866 confirmed deaths in hospitals across England bringing the total number of deaths to 8,114.
Warrington Hospital no longer provides details regarding deaths but those who died across the country were aged between 27 and 100 – and 56 of them aged between 40-93 had no known underlying health conditions.
Meanwhile everyone has been urged to stay indoor sduring the duration of the lockdown, other for essnetial reasons, with families told not to travel to see family during the Easter break.
Police have set up road checks across the county to stop motorists to ensure their travel is essential.
The Government has said social distancing measures will have to stay in place until there is evidence which clearly shows the COVID-19 pandemic has peaked.
