ARSONISTS set fire to the same car twice at Warrington in the early hours of today.
Police are investigating the attacks which took place on a car park in Bewsey Road.
Firefighters were called to the scene just before midnight and found a car well alight. One crew member tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet.
The crew made the car safe. They damped it down and monitored its temperature with a thermal imaging camera.
Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour-and-a-half.
Police also attended.
At 2.30am firefighters were called back to the car park and found the same vehicle again well alight.
Again, a firefighter wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet and the car was then damped down to make it safe.
A thermal imaging camera was again used to check for hotspots.
Both fires are believed to have been started deliberately.
Anyone with information about the fires should call Cheshire Police on 10 1, quoting IML 646495, give the details via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
