Police seek witnesses after pensioner hurt in road collision

OFFICERS are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a serious collision in Warrington.
It was at about 9am on Thursday January 30 when officers were called to Sankey Way following reports of a collision involving a male pedestrian and black Volkswagen Polo.
The male pedestrian, believed to be in his 70s, suffered serious injuries. He remains in hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have captured dashcam footage from around the time of the incident to come forward.
Constable Anthony Garner of the Roads Policing Unit said: “The male involved in this collision is currently in a serious condition in hospital.
“As part of the investigation, we want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision. The same goes for anyone who may have captured dashcam footage in the Sankey Way area around the time of the incident.”
