SUPPORTERS of Extinction Rebellion, Warrington staged a “die-in” in the town centre to draw attention to the international climate change talks in Madrid.
The “die in” last 11 minutes, representing the 11 years the United Nations has said we have to tackle the issue of climate change before it becomes irreversible.
During that time, supporters lay down at Market Gate and in Golden Square as if they were dead.
Louise, a mother of two from Great Sankey, took part in the Warrington demonstration.
She said: “Time is running out. I want to raise awareness locally to people of all ages that there is an Extinction Rebellion group in Warrington, and we need your support. I also want to stress the importance of the forthcoming general election; the next government will be the last one who can make the changes we so desperately need to prevent global warming from becoming irreversible.”
