Motorists trapped in flood waters at Hawleys Lane – again!

POLICE are advising motorists to avoid the Hawleys Lane area of town after several drivers got stuck in flood waters earlier today (Saturday) following heavy rain.

Hawleys Lane is flooded under the railway bridge following heavy rain over night and earlier today and several drivers attempted to drive through and got stuck.

Warrington Borough Council have now placed signs out and police are advising motorists to find an alternative route.

Flooding has been a problem at the Hawleys Lane bridge for many years but motorists continue to get stuck in flood waters on a regular basis.
