Heavy lorry leaking fuel holds up traffic

FIREFIGHTERS at Warrington were called out early today after reports of fuel leaking from a heavy goods vehicle.
The incident at the junction of Winwick Road and Cromwell Avenue held up rush hour traffic around 7.30am
A fire engine from the nearby Warrington fire station went to the scene where it was found the lorry – parked in a bus lane – was leaking diesel from a small hole in its fuel tank.
The crew used a specialist paste to stem the leak and Warrington Borough Council and Highways England were informed.
Firefighters were at the scene for about 20 minutes.
Last night, firefighters were called to a property in Capesthorne Road, Cinnamon Brow, to a fire in a greenhouse.
They used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, thought to have been started accidentally by a firework.
Firefighters were at the scene for about half-an-hour
