WARRINGTON South MP Faisal Rashid will be one of the panel members at a special “Wilder Cheshire” Question Time.
Cheshire Wildlife Trust is hosting the event on Wednesday, August 14 – and is calling on young people to speak out for the environment.
It’s an opportunity for 16-25 year-olds who live in Cheshire to pose questions about the environment to sitting MPs, councillors and Parliamentary candidates.
Other confirmed panel members include Green Party councillor Paul Bowers of Cheshire West amd Chester, Liberal Democrats prospective parliamentary candidate, Daniela Parker for Weaver Vale, and environmental expert and nature writer Lucy McRobert.
Across the country, young people are leading the way in championing environmental issues. Youth strikes and young spokespeople demonstrate that the younger generation want to see change in the way political leaders respond to environmental concerns. The Trust believes it is important that these environmentally minded individuals are given a say in their future.
The event is part of Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s “Wilder Cheshire” campaign which hopes to create stronger environmental legislation to help restore Cheshire’s natural environment. Representatives from various political parties and an environmental expert will be in attendance. The debate promises to be interactive and allow for discussion on the action young people want to see.
Questions can be submitted through Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s webpage at www.cheshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/wilder-cheshire-question-time.
Young people will then be selected to attend the Question Time at the Storyhouse, Chester, on August 14.
