Firefighters tackle generator blaze at landfill site

FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a generator blaze at a landfill and recycling site in Forrest Way in Warrington earlier today (Tuesday).

On arrival at around 2.30pm crews discovered a generator measuring 10 by 10 metres, which was well alight.

Two hose reel jets were in use to protect a nearby generator.

Two firefighetrs wearing breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets remained in use while a medium foam branch was used to tackle the fire.

They then damped down the area using two hose reels.
