Fire near motorway was started deliberately

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night following reports of fire in a field off the M62 at Warrington.
Crews found the blaze on open land off Burtonwood Road. It involved a pile of refuse which appeared to have been deliberately set alight.
They used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire in an operation that last about 30 minutes.
Earlier, firefighters were called to a fire in woodland off Thornton Road, Great Sankey. A quantity of rubbish was involved and crews used an extinguisher to deal with the incident.
