MEMBERS of Warrington 4 Brexit are claiming their “March for Democracy” at the weekend was a huge success.
About 100 members of the campaign group marched through the town centre as a protest against what they see as a betrayal of Parliamentary democracy to uphold the 2016 Referendum vote in favour of leaving the EU.
It was the ninth weekend of protest in the town centre for the local group, made up of people who came together in January because they felt Brexit was being sabotaged by MPs.
The marchers were cheered and clapped by shoppers in the town centre, while drivers hooted their support as the march walked from Warrington and Vale Royal College in Winwick Road, through the town centre and then along Wilderspool Causeway to finish in Stockton Heath.
