Mersey Estuary flood alert for Warrington

A FLOOD alert has been issued for the Mersey Estuary area of Warrington during the early hours of tomorrow (Thursday 21.2.19).

The high tide is expected to be higher than usual along the Mersey Estuary as a result of high spring tides.

Flooding of low lying land, roads and farmland is possible between 00:45am and 01:45am tomorrow, 21/02/19.

There is a possibility of flooding for low lying land in the following places: Fiddlers Ferry between 00:45am and 01:15am, Eastford Road between 01:00am and 01:30am, Arpley Bridge between 01:15am and 01:45am, Weir Lane, Warrington between 01:15am and 01:45am.

It is possible that river levels may affect Arpley Road under the railway bridge. Flood alerts or warnings may also be required for subsequent high tides.
