Surge in support for Warrington4Brexit group

THE recently-formed Warrington4Brexit group mounted a second successful protest in Warrington town centre on Saturday and say they have seen a surge in support.

A spokesperson for the group said: “We’re delighted to report a surge in membership of our Facebook group. Furthermore, many Warringtonians who are not on social media visited our stand at the Skittles to express their support and sign up to our group in person”.

The spokesperson added: “We were also delighted to see so many young people coming over to our stand to join our group, saying that they believe in democracy and are disgusted that democracy is being undermined by those calling for a second referendum to quash the 2016 referendum result .”

The spokesperson confirmed that Warrington4Brexit Group’s immediate strategy was to lobby local Labour MPs – Helen Jones (Warrington North) and Faisal Rashid (Warrington South) – to vote down the Yvette Cooper amendment in Parliament tomorrow, Tuesday (Jan 29).

This amendment would extend Article 50 and take “No Deal” off the negotiating table. However, Warrington4Brexit insist that the amendment is actually no more than a cynical act of subterfuge to block Brexit all together and remind MPs that Warrington voted overwhelmingly to LEAVE the EU.

Supporters who wish to join Warrington4Brexit are invited to visit their Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/Warrington4Brexit/ and/or come to their next meeting at Woolston Social Club (formerly Woolston British Legion), 50 Manchester Road, WA1 4AD, this Thursday (Jan 31) from 7.15 pm to 9.15 pm.
