A WARRINGTON chip shop is open for business as usual after firefighters were called to tackle a fire.

Shortly after 2pm yesterday firefighters were called to a report of a fire at a fish and chip shop on Callands Road in Warrington.

On arrival at Callands Fryery crews discovered a fire in the insulation between the ranges of a deep fat fryer.

Firefighters removed all the insulation and extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher.

They were in attendance for around 40 minutes.

No one was injured and the chip shop is open as usual.
