DISTRIBUTION workers in Warrington put on their pyjamas to raise money to mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The special pyjama party at the Amazon distribution centre in the town helped raise £4,000 to support local families affected by cancer.
It was all part of a global movement called #GoGold and linked in with colleagues at sites around the world.
The theme paid tribute to brave children with cancer who can spend a long period of time living in their pyjamas during treatment and recovery.
Gold is the colour of the ribbon that is the international symbol of childhood cancer.
A £3,000 donation was made to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital charity, with the money going towards Ward 84, the oncology and haematology ward to help make life that little bit easier for the young cancer patients treated on the ward.
The Warrington team also made an additional donation of £1,000 to The Joshua Tree Children’s Cancer Charity in Northwich.
Site leader at Warrington, Edmon Yohannes, said: “Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital does vital work for the children in our community and we wanted to support them and the families who rely on them with this event.”
