SME businesses across Warrington are being invited to take part in a two-day interactive workshop at Thornton Science Park, to learn how best to introduce innovation to their organisations.
The foundation workshop is part of the University of Chester’s I2C (innovation to Commercialisation) project and is part ERDF-funded and fully funded for the beneficiaries.
Taking place on September 18 and 19, the foundation workshop is a mixture of presentations, group activities and discussions. From learning how to draw up an innovation strategy and assessing and managing risk, to the best methods of carrying out low cost market research, the emphasis is on hands-on, practical advice and learning.
Paul Vernon, CEO at the Daresbury based Thornton Science Park and sponsor of the I2C project, said: “Our foundation workshops provide an excellent introduction to strategic innovation, guiding attendees through the innovation process from concept generation to commercialisation. All elements of the workshops are very practical, to ensure participants can go back to work feeling confident they can effectively apply the tools, knowledge and skills they have acquired to their own business.”
Any businesses unable to attend the September workshop will have another opportunity later in the year, as a further foundation workshop event has already been scheduled for December 5 and 6. The foundation workshop is the latest in a series of two-day workshops and masterclasses provided by the I2C project, to promote design and innovation across the Cheshire and Warrington region. The workshops are open to all those businesses who are registered to the ERDF funded I2C project.
