PROMINENT ‘Remain’ Campaigner Lord Andrew Adonis will be guest speaker at the launch of a cross-party grassroots campaign group, “Warrington for Europe,” next Monday (September 3).
The group has been set up to raise awareness about the EU local and is backing calls for a referendum on the terms of the final Brexit deal.
Lord Adonis is a leading national figure in the campaign against Brexit.
His recent book, “Saving Britain”, written with Will Hutton, gives a “devastating” view of Brexit and makes a powerful argument for a fairer, more equal and more prosperous Britain within the European Union.
Group secretary Dan Warren, from Orford, said: “In these uncertain times with the cliff edge of March 2019 coming ever closer, the debate over what leaving the EU will look like, carries on.
“Democracy didn’t end with a vote on one day in June 2016 and many more facts have come to light since. Brexit is the biggest issue right now, and we all deserve to have our view on the future as it unfolds.”
