PENKETH Community Fire Station will once again be throwing open its doors to the public for an event that promises something for everyone.

There will be a range of activities offering fun for all the family at the Widnes Road fire station from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 25 August.

Station Manager Neil Winstanley said: “The Open Day is a great way for the community to discover more about their local fire station and learn about some of the work we undertake.

“The team will be doing operational displays throughout the day, including road traffic collision and height safety demonstrations.

“We’ll also have cadet demonstrations and an interactive smoke tent to keep visitors entertained.

“Visitors will also get the opportunity to meet some of the hard working firefighters who provide around the clock cover to help keep our community safe.”

As always, the event is free to attend and there will also be a range of vintage and modern fire engines on display at a variety of community stands.

The Fire Fighters Charity, North West Ambulance Service and the Cheshire Police Interceptors will all have stands on the day.
