A SEASON of three great British films with local and regional connections is being brought to Warrington by CineWire and Warrington Borough Council.
CineWire is a non-profit, community film club bringing pop up screenings of high quality cinema to local communities.
Films will be shown in the Council Chamber at the iconic Warrington Town Hall as the Council opens the doors of the Grade 1 listed building to the public for these special events.
Tickets are £7 per adult and £5 per concession (under 18s, students and seniors). Free tickets are available for carers accompanying guests with accessibility needs.
Before the films, guests will be given the opportunity to explore areas of the Town Hall they may never have seen, before taking their seats for the below screenings:
- 16 August – The Secret Garden (PG)
- 14 September – Brassed Off (15)
- 12 October – Hobsons Choice (U)
Cllr Dan Price, executive board member for culture and partnerships, said: “CineWire is an exciting new community film club that was launched earlier this year by two previous students of Penketh High School. Building on their success, they’ve put together an excellent programme and I’m happy the council is getting involved to provide a fantastic location for the screenings.
We are very lucky in Warrington to have a wonderful Town Hall but members of the public rarely get the opportunity to see inside. These film screenings are a fun and simple way for us to open the doors for everyone, whilst creating a brilliant cinema experience.”

We are both really looking forward to showcasing these northern classics at Warrington Town Hall.”
