WARRINGTON North MP Helen Jones has teamed up with the UK Parliament Education and Engagement team in calling for people to sign up for UK Parliament Week 2018 (November 12-18).
Helen said: “I am pleased to support this year’s UK Parliament Week and encourage people in Warrington North, especially young people and their teachers, to get involved and hold a UK Parliament Week event.
“UK Parliament Week is a country wide festival that engages people with Parliament and empowers them to get involved. It is a great opportunity to explore what the UK Parliament means to people and their communities.
“No prior knowledge about parliament is needed to get involved. An event can be big or small, public or private and there is no limit on how to take part, from holding a debate or mock election, to organising guest speakers or even an online event.
“A free UK Parliament Week partner kit will be sent to those who register which include resources to help run events including an activity booklet, a ballot box, bunting, posters, pin badges, a placard and a Votes for Women sash.
“Whatever group or organisation becomes registered, from primary and secondary schools to uniformed organisations, faith organisations or community groups, there is something for everyone in UK Parliament Week. “
