OVER 50 beginner triathletes braved the hot summer sun at Orford Jubilee Park, Warrington when LiveWire held their annual GO TRI mini triathlon event.
The participants, volunteers and spectators braved the blistering heat to take part in the beginner’s event. The event was organised for those that had never tried the three triathlon disciplines – swimming, cycling and running – all together.
The GO TRI event encouraged people to have a go at multi-sports events in a fun, supportive and friendly atmosphere.
Entrants completed a 250m swim, 5.5km bike ride and a 3km run. It was a perfect platform for those looking to improve their fitness or get involved in the sport.
John (50) a resident from Orford said: “It was a really well organised event and the third time I have completed it. It was more difficult than previous years due to the heat, but still just as enjoyable. It’s a nice introduction to a triathlon and it helps you learn about the transitions between each element.”
