THERE will be a superhero theme to this year’s Lymm Festival Trail Races which take place on Sunday July 1.

Entries are already high for the family event, now in its seventh year, which starts at 10.30am with a one mile Fancy Dress Fun Run for children on the playing fields of the high school.

This year the fancy dress theme will be Superheroes, who will be in pursuit of a Mystery Woodland Warrior, with a prize for the best dressed superhero boy and girl.

This is followed by the 5k and 10k Trail Race for teens and adults through the Helsdale and Spud Wood with goody bags for all those who finish.

Katy O’Connor, Race Director, said: “We are particularly excited this year to have incorporated plenty of new angles for what will be a packed day.

“We have a bespoke medal, a new design buff and Trek will be bringing some of their kid’s bikes to test ride round a mini course.

“For cake lovers, in addition to the excellent cakes and refreshments the PTA will be providing, local GB Triathlete Helen Murray will be coming along with her bestselling compilation of celebrity cake recipes ‘Fuelled By More Cake’ and local chef Tracy Quinn is raffling one of her fabulous creations to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.”
