IKEA store evacuated following Carbon Dioxide gas leak

THE IKEA store at Europa Boulevard, Warrington, was evacuated this morning following reports of six leaking carbon dioxide cylinders.

Three Cheshire fire and rescue crews from Warrington and Penketh attended at the scene at 04.39 following reports of six carbon dioxide cylinders leaking at IKEA on Europa Boulevard, Warrington.

A full evacuation of the store took place as a precaution before firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus stemmed the leak and made sure it was safe.

The room was left open to allow for ventilation.

Ambulance crews were also in attendance but there were no reports of any casualties.
