THE A57 Sankey Way was closed earlier today after a car burst into flames.
The incident took place at around 12 noon creating a knock on effect to traffic around Warrington.
Emergency services including fire and police attended at the scene as the highway was closed heading into Warrington.
Two fire crews brought the blaze under control and at least one lane is now open.
