Knife man caught by metal detector at club

POLICE at Warrington have praised door staff at a town centre bar for using a metal detector wand to help combat knife crime.
The detector resulted in the staff discovering a man alleged to be in possession a lock knife on Saturday.
Police were immediately called and the man was arrested.
He has since been charged with possession of a bladed article and is due to appear in court later in May.
